Pitru Paksha is a sacred period in the Hindu calendar dedicated to remembering, honouring and offering prayers to departed ancestors. Families traditionally observe these days through Shraddha, Tarpan, Pind Daan, charity, mantra chanting and acts of gratitude toward their Pitras.
