A board presentation should do more than provide information. Its real purpose is to help decision-makers understand the situation, evaluate the available options, and take meaningful action. Board members are often responsible for major strategic decisions involving growth, investments, risk, financial performance, leadership, and long-term direction. Because their time is limited, a presentation must be clear, focused, and designed around the decisions that need to be made.
Creating a board presentation that drives action requires careful planning. The strongest presentations do not simply collect data and place it on slides.
