The AFB utilizes an aluminum body that is lightweight and corrosion-resistant. The carburetor has a dual-plane design: it has separate primary and secondary throttle bores, fueling the engine flow for a mixture of lower and higher engine speeds. One striking feature would be the metering rods that can be adjusted in place for a precise change in fuel mixture without having to remove the carburetor. Carter AFB Carburetor were standard on the Great Three back in the day and is still being recreated today by companies such as Edelbrock. Great on the street and for some light-mild performance, the AFB fosters a smooth throttle response, consistent fueling, and easy maintenance, making it dear to the hearts of vintage car lovers and restoration experts.
