Vishnu Manchu Steers Mohan Babu University's Partnership with PhysicsWallah to Make Students Industry-Ready

When Vishnu Manchu speaks about education, the conversation keeps returning to one idea: a degree should lead somewhere. As Pro-Chancellor, he has pushed that thinking into the daily functioning of Mohan Babu University, and the university's new partnership with PhysicsWallah's career-skills platform, PW Skills, is the latest example. The collaboration aims to ease the move from classroom to workplace through industry exposure, hands-on learning and structured career preparation at MBU.

The reasoning behind the partnership is easy to see in the data. The Human Capital for Viksit Bharat report places youth employability at 54.8% in 2025, while Indian companies report a 63% talent shortage, especially in IT, engineering services and sales. The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 adds that around 39% of workers' current skills are expected to change or become outdated by 2030. These are the pressures that shape the priorities of Vishnu Manchu and his team, who see practical, industry-linked learning as a necessity for any university that wants its graduates hired.

His involvement in student outcomes goes well beyond signing agreements. The Top Gun programme at the Career Development Centre, designed by him, identifies high-performing B.Tech students and develops them through industry-focused training and mentoring from successful alumni. It is meant to prepare participants for roles at leading technology companies. Programmes like this show how MBU approaches employability as something to be designed, tracked and improved every year.

The same hands-on style shows up in the university's partnerships. Earlier collaborations with L&T EduTech under the "Educate India" initiative, along with certification pathways in AWS, Cisco, SAP, Salesforce and Google Cloud, have already widened career options for students at Mohan Babu University. In September 2026, the university also signed a MoU with LinkedIn, giving learners and faculty access to more than 25,000 LinkedIn Learning courses, verifiable micro-certifications and role-aligned learning paths. Vishnu Manchu was present at that signing along with the university's senior leadership, which reflects how closely he follows these initiatives.

Students hear the same message from him on campus. At the Annual Day 2026 celebration, he encouraged students to pursue quality education with discipline and reminded them of their responsibility as future leaders. At earlier convocations, he spoke to graduates about bold ambition, leadership and purpose. For a young university, having a Pro-Chancellor who is visible at these moments helps students see the institution's goals as their own. It also fits the legacy of its founder Mohan Babu, the actor and educationist who built the Sree Vidyanikethan institutions that grew into the university.

The growth of the institution can be measured in its convocations. From its first graduating batch in 2024 to more than 3,500 graduates at the third convocation, Mohan Babu University has expanded quickly across engineering, management, sciences and allied fields. Pairing that scale with industry-facing partnerships is central to the strategy that Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu University are pursuing together: more graduates, and better prepared ones.

For students, the PhysicsWallah partnership should mean access to PW Skills' career-oriented learning alongside their regular academic programmes, not in place of them. It gives them another route to build technical and workplace skills, and to leave with credentials that employers can verify. This is in line with the direction set by Vishnu Manchu, who has consistently argued that employability should be developed from the first year, not squeezed into placement season.

As AI, automation and changing job requirements reshape the workforce, universities will be judged on how well their graduates can perform in real roles. By combining academic depth with continuously updated industry training, MBU is preparing to meet that test.

The PhysicsWallah MoU is one more step in a journey that Mohan Babu University has been building under Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu's leadership, where learning, mentoring and industry exposure work together to help every student step into a career with confidence.
